Job Description
A prestigious national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Conveyancing Secretary (Bonds) to join its high-performing Real Estate team in Johannesburg. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned conveyancing professional with extensive experience in commercial mortgage bonds to become part of a fast-paced, client-focused legal practice.

Key Responsibilities
As the Senior Conveyancing Secretary, you will:
- Manage conveyancing bond files from instruction through to registration and finalisation.
- Handle commercial mortgage bond registrations and related conveyancing matters.
- Prepare, process and manage mortgage bond cancellation instructions, consents to cancel and guarantee checks.
- Draft and process standard security documentation for major South African banks.
- Assist with notarial bonds and related documentation.
- Liaise professionally with banks, clients, consultants, attorneys and all transacting parties.
- Open, maintain and close files using the firm's file management system.
- Ensure full FICA compliance on all matters.
- Coordinate diaries, meetings and practice administration.
- Oversee file archiving and records management.
- Prepare, collate and distribute legal documentation using Lexis Convey, e4 and electronic document management systems.
- Monitor billing, registration fees, trust accounting processes and outstanding disbursements.
- Follow new matter opening procedures, including conflict checks and engagement documentation.
- Support attorneys with administrative and secretarial functions while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Ensure all work is completed accurately within strict deadlines.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Secretarial Certificate or Diploma.
- 8–10 years' experience as a Conveyancing Secretary specialising in Bonds.
- Extensive experience dealing with commercial mortgage bonds.
- Strong understanding of South African conveyancing procedures.
- Experience with Lexis Convey and e4.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal).
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy.
