Are you an analytical professional with a passion for business process improvement, financial systems, and data-driven decision-making?
Our client, a leading global law firm with offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban, is seeking a highly motivated Business Analyst to join their Data & Analytics team in Johannesburg.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a world-class professional services environment, partnering with Finance, IT, Legal and Data teams to optimise business processes, improve financial systems, and deliver meaningful business insights.
Key Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis
- Document and map financial business processes and data flows across systems.
- Analyse existing workflows to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Maintain process documentation and enterprise data flow models.
Business Process Improvement
- Participate in business process reengineering initiatives.
- Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency, data quality and user experience.
- Support implementation of process improvements with business and technical stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Gather and document business requirements.
- Facilitate workshops with Finance, IT, Legal and Data teams.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyse financial data and identify business trends.
- Assist with financial modelling, forecasting and budgeting.
- Present meaningful financial insights to support strategic decision-making.
Systems Optimisation
- Evaluate financial systems and recommend enhancements.
- Support implementation of system upgrades and improvements.
- Ensure financial data integrity across enterprise systems.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Informatics
- 3–5 years' experience in:
- Business Analysis
- Financial Systems
- Business Process Improvement
- Experience working with Finance and Data teams
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SQL experience
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- Experience with Aderant will be advantageous
- Experience within a professional services or legal environment is advantageous
