Senior Associate – Banking & Finance Attorney (Bilateral & Syndicated Lending)

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced Banking & Finance Attorney to join a specialist team supporting global banking clients on high-volume, high-value lending transactions.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded attorney with strong experience in bilateral and syndicated lending, who is confident drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and amending complex finance documentation while applying sound legal judgment across sophisticated transaction scenarios.

The successful candidate will work closely with international stakeholders, supporting the efficient progression of transactions, maintaining legal consistency, and delivering high-quality legal outputs within structured legal frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Lending & Banking Documentation

• Draft, review, negotiate, and amend a broad range of commercial lending and banking documentation, including:
  • Facility letters
  • Bilateral and syndicated loan agreements
  • Security documents
  • Corporate approvals
  • Board resolutions
  • Ancillary transaction documentation
• Work extensively with LMA-style finance documentation and structured lending templates

Transaction Management & Workflow

• Manage document workflows from first draft through to execution
• Ensure matters progress efficiently while maintaining version control and documentation integrity
• Support high-volume lending matters within a fast-paced transactional environment

Legal Analysis & Risk Assessment

• Handle legal queries independently, applying sound legal judgment to interpretation, risk, and escalation
• Identify inconsistencies, legal risks, and commercial issues across documentation
• Resolve or escalate matters appropriately to ensure effective transaction execution

Documentation Consistency & Governance

• Apply consistent legal standards across templates, taxonomies, playbooks, and structured legal frameworks
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of:
  • Legal templates
  • Drafting notes
  • Guidance materials
• Maintain exceptional drafting accuracy, quality, and consistency across all workstreams

Stakeholder Engagement

• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across:
  • Legal
  • Credit
  • Compliance
  • Tax
  • Business and control functions
  • External legal counsel
• Support seamless communication and transaction execution across global teams

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• 5+ years’ post-admission experience in:
  • Banking & Finance
  • Commercial Lending
  • Transactional Legal Practice
• Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating:
  • Lending documentation
  • Ancillary banking documentation
• Proven experience in:
  • Bilateral lending transactions
  • Syndicated lending transactions
  • LMA-style finance documentation (or equivalent)
• Strong legal analysis and interpretation skills
• Experience operating in a documentation-heavy, fast-paced environment
